David Hawtin
David was born in Blenheim and lived there until going to university in 1990. He has strong links to Marlborough and has been involved in many significant local property transactions such as leasing the original site to The Warehouse in the early 90's and more recently being involved with the development and relocation of Mitre 10 Mega. David has over seventeen years experience in all areas of Residential and Commercial Real Estate, including sales and leasing, property management, property development, and consultancy. David's initial experience came from his training and education at Lincoln University, graduating with a degree in property and following that working as a commercial sales and leasing agent for a major real estate company in Christchurch. In 1994 David took up a position at The National Property Trust as senior property portfolio manager, responsible for managing the Trusts 60 million dollar property portfolio. This work included acquisitions, disposals, leasing, and property development work. In the late 90's David moved to Wellingotn to concentrate further on property consultancy and development work and was employed by New Zealand Post Properties. Duties included selling, leasing, managing and development of around 130 million dollars worth of residential and commercial property. After leaving New Zealand Post David started his own firm to provide property services to companies and individuals. This company which is now Grace Realty was responsible for sourcing space for New Zealand Post to set up Kiwi Bank, managed 35 million dollars worth of property and carried out work for companies and organisations such as The Public Trust, Workbridge, Association of Crown Research Institutes, Federated Farmers, Grand Central (NZ) Ltd, Travelex Worldwide Money, Kiwi Mail, Electricity Complaints Commission and AMP. In 2002 David (with Lianne) opened Grace Realty in Blenheim. Since this time David and Lianne have transacted more than $100 million worth of sales including more than 300 house sales.
